Seacret Hand Cream with Shea Butter Ingredients Research

Dead Sea Minerals Research

Dead Sea salt is an exceptional moisturizer for parched skin. It contains a high concentration of magnesium, which hydrates the epidermis by strengthening its lipid barrier (1).

“A solution containing 5% Dead Sea salt for 6 weeks greatly improved skin hydration, roughness, and reduced skin redness.”

Dead Sea salt is also an excellent exfoliant as the abrasive texture combined with high sodium content helps to slough off dead skin cells to stimulate the development of new skin cells, thereby rejuvenating and healing the skin.

The salt from the Dead Sea locks moisture into the epidermis and helps the skin retain water. This maintains your skin hydrated and fresh throughout the day. Including Dead Sea salt in your daily facial regimen can even diminish the appearance of creases (2).

In a clinical test on human subjects, skin wrinkle depth and hydration were measured to determine photoaging.  A significant improvement in skin moisture and wrinkle depth was observed (2).

One of the greatest advantages of Dead Sea salt is its anti-aging properties, as it promotes skin exfoliation, hydration, and rejuvenation. All of these benefits, it turns out, will help you appear and feel younger.

Shea Butter Research

There is a reason why so many face moisturizers and body treatments contain shea butter as it is very effective at nourishing irritated skin, moisturizing and softening the skin and strengthening the skin barrier.  Shea Butter acts as an emollient that moisturizes and softens skin.

It contains several types of fatty acids — including lineoleic, oleic, palmitic, and stearic acids — that strengthen the skin’s natural barrier, shea butter also protects the skin from environmental injury, such as pollution.

According to research published in the Journal of Oleo Science, shea butter’s anti-inflammatory compounds make it ideal for soothing and nourishing irritated skin.

According to the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, shea butter contains a significant amount of antioxidants, including vitamins A and E, as well as many of the same antioxidants found in green tea — a well-known antioxidant powerhouse. Antioxidants (particularly vitamin A) have been shown to prevent free radical damage when applied to the skin. More research is required to substantiate that shea butter is an anti-aging component.

Cocoa Butter Research

Because cocoa butter is rich in fatty acids, it is often praised for its ability to hydrate, nourish, and enhance the elasticity of the skin. The cocoa butter fat creates a moisture-retaining barrier over the skin.

Cocoa butter is also abundant in phytochemicals, which are natural plant compounds. These substances may increase blood flow to the epidermis and slow skin aging by protecting against sun-induced UV damage. It is a potent antioxidant: Cocoa butter is rich in antioxidants, which aid in preventing free-radical damage, which can lead to aging, dark spots, and lackluster skin (1).

Protecting the epidermis from free radical damage is essential for maintaining its health and youthful appearance.

Olive Oil Research

Olive oil hydrates the epidermis because it contains squalene and vitamin E.  Vitamin enhances the skin’s ability to assimilate and retain water, whereas squalene promotes the skin’s ability to retain moisture (2).

Antioxidant rich olive oil reduces the visible symptoms of aging.  These compounds can combat oxidative stress, which contributes to the aging of epidermis.  They can also boost collagen production in the epidermis (7).

Because like attracts like, olive oil can be used to dissolve oily residue on the epidermis because like attracts like.  Nevertheless, it can be used to remove certain types of cosmetics, including waterproof products (3).

Vitamin E Research

According to studies, vitamin E may be beneficial for treating the symptoms of dry skin.I When applied topically, it has potent emollient properties and can penetrate the epidermis to impart long-lasting moisture. In addition, it may strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier, a crucial characteristic of smooth, healthy-appearing skin.

According to studies, topical application of vitamin E can enhance the skin’s ability to retain water, thereby averting dehydrated skin.  Vitamin E helps maintain the integrity and proper function of the skin’s natural moisture barrier by preventing excessive water loss.

Protecting against the damaging effects of free radicals (also known as reactive oxygen species) is one of the most important functions of vitamin E in the epidermis. After exposure to stressors such as pollution and UV radiation, free radicals form. When allowed to build up on the skin, these harmful compounds can cause a variety of skin issues, including premature aging, dark blotches, and discolorations. Vitamin E helps neutralize free radicals as an antioxidant. Ultimately, this reduces the impact these stressors have on the health and appearance of your epidermis (4).

Sunflower Oil Research

Vitamin E in sunflower oil contains anti-aging and anti-wrinkle antioxidants that keep your skin appearing young and healthy. Additionally, sunflower oil contains linoleic acid, which enables the epidermis to retain moisture and become less dry. Those with eczema or otherwise dry skin can benefit greatly from a reinforcement of this natural moisture barrier. Additionally, linoleic acid protects the epidermis against bacteria and germs.

In addition to maintaining skin hydration (5).

Sunflower oil benefits for skin include:

  • Sunflower oil is extremely absorbent and noncomedogenic, so it does not obstruct pores.
  • Sunflower Oil also provides UV protection
  • Sunflower Oil contains Antioxidants, such as vitamin E that shield the skin from sun damage and wrinkling.

Orange Oil Research

Can enhance the overall appearance of skin. Orange oil can make the skin more radiant. When administered topically, its antimicrobial properties may reduce the likelihood of developing acne. There are also claims that it can unclog pores and reduce inflammation, but more research is required to confirm these claims (6).
